Prof. Vieira is always looking for creative and motivated students to join the ObsCos group. Students are welcome to drop by with questions.

Faculty

Professor Vieira is an observational cosmologist who works across the electromagnetic spectrum. His scientific interests include: galaxy evolution and structure formation at high redshift; the star formation history of the Universe; the epoch of reionization; experimental tests of inflation; the cosmic microwave background. Dr. Vieira builds experiments, conducts cosmological surveys, and performs observations of the distant Universe. He works with data from the South Pole Telescope, Herschel, Hubble, Spitzer, Chandra, and ALMA. Dr. Vieira is currently helping to build future mm and sub-millimeter facilities, pondering the cosmic evolution of dust and ionized carbon, and working to detect signatures of inflation through polarized measurements of the Cosmic Microwave Background.
